QUARZ is an amazing nanotechnology based furniture protection product that needed an equally amazing identity and packaging system. Lucky for us, we had an amazing client who was willing to let us do our thing and take some chances. Using the molecular structure of quartz as a starting point, the logo mark evolved into a simple yet sophisticated drop shape containing a stylized rendering of that structure, and the wordmark was kept simple and clean to convey the premium nature of the product.
We stuck with a black and white colour palette to reflect the purity of the product itself – which is literally water and quartz.
We then treated fabric with QUARZ spray and photographed water droplets as they beaded on the surface, giving a beautiful, high-contrast effect. We used that photograph as the basis for all packaging elements, marketing collateral and even the walls of the Las Vegas trade show booth where the product was launched.
